⁴⁴ But Pilate wondered whether He was dead by-this-time. And having summoned the centurion, he asked him whether He died already. ⁴⁵ And having come-to-know it from the centurion, he granted the corpse to Joseph. ⁴⁶ And having bought linen-cloth, having taken Him down, he wrapped Him in the linen cloth, and laid Him in a tomb which had been hewn out of rock. And he rolled a stone against^[a] the door of the tomb.
